{lauren mckinsey creates} it all started with a trip to Target and a $1.00 pail

if you are anything like me you love the dollar section at target. i find myself drawn to the store each week to see what goodies could be waiting there for me. i am never disappointed!
i was excited to find these colorful metal pails for only $1 each. oh, the possibilities! i quickly grabbed up several knowing they might come in handy for a multitude of projects.

inspired by a post on she’s {kinda} crafty i decided to put my “bucket” loads of ribbon to good use. believing that EvErYtHiNg looks better tied with ribbon, i figured i couldn’t go wrong in tying ribbon to the metal handle on the bucket. i was right. this was going to be adorable!

using my new easter collection i added the large hoppy easter sticker to the front of the pail. i loved the idea of using bright blue fill which was so pretty against the green. filling the pail with hershey kisses (happily decorated with the coordinating stickers) i could hardly wait to give my bucket to one of most favorite people!

a few days later i “hopped” over to my 92 year old grandmother’s house with pail in hand. her sweet smile and “oh how cute” squeals of delight made my trip even more special.

over the weekend i made a second easter pail for a very good friend of mine, and i can hardly wait to make more! wouldn’t these make fantastic teacher gifts?

it takes only a few supplies to make this adorable easter pail. you will need the following:

  • a metal bucket (i found mine at Target in the dollar section)
  • lots and lots of colorful ribbon (available at your local craft supply store such as Michaels)
  • paper fill or shred (also available at your local craft store)
  • easter candy (oh the many delicious options)
  • the (3×4 inch stickers and coordinating hershey kiss stickers)

i hope that you have as much fun as i have creating these. i know what i will be making more of this weekend!

happy creating!
