{think cute designs} my dad’s a SUPERHERO!

i have typed and deleted this post now several times.  trying hard to find the right words to express my feelings about father’s day isn’t easy.  for those of you follow my blog you know that over two years my children’s father died in a car accident.  so, i am sure you can image that father’s day isn’t the easiest holiday in our home.

as i sat down to design a father’s day collection, i was drawn to the superhero that i had created some time ago.  i couldn’t think of a more fitting design.  their dad was most certainly their superhero.  oh how he loved them.  the piggyback rides he gave. the countless hours he jumped on the trampoline. the silly names he called them.  we have lots of those memories.  my superhero collection honors him.

but, we also have a second superhero in our lives.  my husband.  the superhero who became an instant dad. the man that saves me over and over again!

so, in honor of these two superheros i am excited to share our new collection with you!

superheros are pretty powerful, but sometimes they need a little extra fuel to get them through the day!  this adorable tag says:

“sometime even superheros need a little extra fuel, so i’ve left behind some power-ups just for you.”

{i will admit that i had no idea what power-ups were when the boys in the house suggested that’s what i call the candy “fuel”.  but, i have since discovered that power-ups are used in video games to give the characters a little extra boost!}

being a fan of the clear paint cans from my local craft store, i filled it to the brim with Reece’s pieces and tied a cute beach shovel to the handle.  i loved the idea of a dad having this sit on his desk at work!

right now this is sitting on our kitchen counter, and i can’t seem to resist those yummy little Reece’s pieces!

i’m hoping that the superhero in our house quickly hides these from me!

what will your superhero power-ups be?  will they be candy, trail mix, coffee?  the possibilities are endless!

of course i couldn’t resist the idea of kisses for the superhero dad!  the hershey kiss stickers coordinate perfectly with the collection and are a sweet reminder of how much your superhero is loved!

we especially love our large candy bar wrapper!  in honor of all the superhero dads out there this printable is FREE as our gift to you!

the superhero collection features more designs not pictured above.  a cute superhero father’s day card along with coordinating cupcake toppers/gift tags are available as well.  surprise dad on father’s day morning with a stack of pancakes or blueberry muffins with a superhero topper!  i love the idea of using the gift tags to leave little love notes around the house for daddy to find!

happy father’s day dads!  thanks for being superheros!

    Hi Lauren;

    The Easter Hershey kiss stickers I got from you were darling and I love them. The only problem was finding a small enough punch to punch the stickers to I didn’t have to hand cute them and it took forever to peel the sticky part off the back of the page. I wonder if you could print some tips/tricks to help make that an easier process. I messed up a lot of stickers trying to get the sticky backing off once I had punched the hershey kiss stickers out and thought to myself, “I bet Lauren has a tip to make this a lot easier.” So, please help!

    Thanks,

    Tricia

    Thank you so much for the free candy bar wrapper. I am a Kindergarten teacher and in the beginning of the year I do a “Donuts for Dads” breakfast. I have the kids wear a red cape and I take a pic of them posing. They paint craft sticks white and I hot glue them together to make a frame and add a small piece of fabric to make it look like a cape and write “U R Super!” They write about why their dad is super. This wrapper would be a cute gift for the dads too! Thakn you!
